As truly independent Taunton funeral directors and undertakers, we understand making that first call after someone has died is often the hardest thing to do.
We answer calls personally, then we attend to the moving of your loved one from the place of passing and begin making funeral arrangements according to your wishes.
Your dedicated person is always available to deal with any questions or queries you might have.

When someone dies
At Home
When someone dies in their own home the doctor who last visited your loved one will need to be contacted. The doctor may or may not visit to confirm death but they will advise you if it is appropriate to contact a funeral director.
When the doctor has given their permission we can arrange to move your loved one to our peaceful chapel of rest.
When someone dies suddenly or unexpectedly the death may be reported to HM Coroner. There will be no certificate of cause of death. Additionally there may be an inquest. The Coroner or the Coroner's officers (who act on their behalf) will be able to advise you of all the procedures and will also tell you when you can go to the registrars.
In hospital
When someone dies in hospital, contact us so that we can talk through your wishes and start any necessary arrangements.

Away from home
If someone dies away from home, arranging a funeral can seem like an impossible task, but our staff will advise and guide you every step of the way.
